MEDUSA Project

Multi-Megawatt Medium-Voltage Fast Charging

Next Generation Ultra Fast Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles

The MEDUSA initiative is focused on the development of a multi-megawatt (4.5 MW+) medium-voltage fast charging infrastructure for busses, heavy duty vehicles, trucks, vans and cars. Additionally, the solution should also foster distributed charging with lower power ratings (such as for example 350 kW).
Besides optimizing CO2 emissions during each charging cycle by integrating renewable energy systems such as solar electricity and battery storage systems, a medium voltage DC-Hub also enables high-power testing of future charging stations. Due to the high power demand, which can be in the tens of MW area, the whole infrastructure must be directly connected to the medium voltage grid.
